The Max Eisen z”l Fund for Trauma Resilience & Recovery At Herzog Medical Center in Jerusalem
Launched in loving memory by his granddaughter, (Amy) Tzipporah Eisen
Israel’s Mental Health Crisis: Healing Invisible Wounds
Since October 7th, Israel has been gripped by trauma.
Sirens in the night. Children waking from nightmares. Lives shattered.
And for too many, the deepest wounds are the ones no one can see.
Fear. Grief. Isolation.
From at-risk young adults to Holocaust survivors re-triggered by war—countless Israelis are silently struggling. And many have nowhere to turn.
Founded 130 years ago as the first mental health hospital in the Middle East, Herzog Medical Center is a national leader in trauma and psychiatric care. Its Max & Gianna Glassman Center – built by Canadian donors – treats over 2,000 patients each month. But the demand is overwhelming. Wait times stretch more than a year.
The Max Eisen z”l Fund supports Herzog’s trauma response—expanding mental health clinics and outreach for at-risk young adults—offering timely, expert, compassionate care to those with invisible wounds.
Launched in memory of my beloved grandfather Max—a Holocaust survivor and educator—this fund carries forward his legacy of resilience, recovery and hope.
Please give generously. Help dedicate therapy rooms in Max’s name and bring healing and strength to those who need it most.
