Herzog Hospital aerial photo in Jerusalem, Israel

Dear Friend of Herzog Medical Center,

                        “I see my grandmother’s legacy in front of my eyes.”

This was just one of the comments Israel’s President Isaac Herzog made during his recent official visit to Herzog Medical Center, which is named after his grandmother, Rabbanit Sarah Herzog.

The President visited:

 *The Emergency Underground Hospital, which was converted into a 120-bed Covid Isolation facility;

*The new Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center located in the new Samson Pavilion, where the latest virtual reality equipment was demonstrated in the Physical and Occupational Therapy Departments;

*He met with several of the graduates of Herzog’s successful programme to train Ethiopian immigrants to become nurses’ aides and who are currently working at Herzog Medical Center;

*He culminated his visit by presenting certificates of appreciation to three long-term Board members and spoke to the staff about how the hospital has had a special place in his heart since he was a child.

We thank the President and his wife, Michal, for taking the time to make a lengthy visit to learn more about how the hospital has developed since the times when his grandmother was President of the Board from 1943-1979.
